Blayid Ben Belkacem and Emmanuel Doucet have started their 2 month internship on the Re-Typograph Diplomatique program. Their goal is to produce an easy to use, proof of concept program, extracting full typeface descriptions from a scanned printed Renaissance document.

Re-Typograph Diplomatique received financial support by the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme de Lorraine as one of the 14 funded pre-operations for interdisciplinary research. The financial support is targeted towards the development of a full demonstrator and the construction of a consortium program for further research collaboration.

Prof. Elisa Barney Smith, from Boise State University, has been selected by the “Chercheurs d’excellence” intiative, funded by the Région Lorraine. She will benefit from research funding to contribute her expertise in Document Image Analysis and Digital Humanities to the Re-Typograph project.
